University of Toronto Schools
University of Toronto Schools (UTS) is a university preparatory school, grades 7 through 12, affiliated with the University of Toronto. Located on U of T's St. George Campus, UTS offers high achieving students a specialized curriculum and a unique co-educational learning environment that encourages creative interests, physical activity as well as a sense of social responsibility. University of Toronto Schools (UTS) is attended by students from grades 7 through 12, with 78 students per grade in classes graduating before 2001, 104 students per grade in classes graduating before 2009, and 110 in classes graduating thereafter. University of Toronto Schools has enriched courses and a specialized curriculum, which are designed to challenge and educate at a higher level than at most public and many independent schools. Because potential UTS candidates are required to pass a rigorous entrance examination to attend the school, its curriculum is accelerated on the assumption that its students assimilate information faster. For this reason several higher-grade subjects are taught at lower grade levels. For example, Grade 10 students can take an enriched version of Ontario's Grade 11 courses in introductory physics, biology, and/or chemistry. As well, effort is made to enrich classes with extra material and more in-depth discussions. University of Toronto Schools offers Advanced Placement courses, but does not have an International Baccalaureate program. In addition to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma, graduates earn a UTS Diploma, which signifies the completion of certain specialized courses, among them Latin and Romance of Antiquity, and attesting to an attainment level beyond the provincial standards. UTS's rate of student achievement is commensurate with its selective admissions policy, both in academics and in extracurricular activities. Virtually all UTS students go on to university following graduation:in 2004, the University of Toronto, McGill, Queen's, Waterloo, McMaster, and UBC were the most popular destinations, accounting for more than two-thirds of graduates; of the rest, a majority attended U.S. universities (primarily Ivy League and other "top tier" US institutions). The school's alumni include 20 Rhodes Scholars and two Nobel Prize winners.

Aurora
Aurora Preparatory Academy
We would like to introduce you to Aurora Preparatory Academy, an institution that offers an exceptional elementary education in York region at a surprisingly reasonable cost. Aurora Prep is owned and operated by a small, select group of teachers committed to continuing the unparalleled 35 years' success its predecessor, Foundations Private School, on the occasion of its principal's retirement. It has been an exciting year of transition and updates, honouring the past while embracing the future, and many of our current families are already registering in advance of the anticipated public interest. Aurora Prep is a small school that produces big results, currently boasting a student population that allows us to provide exceptional individualized support to each of our students. Teachers and students enjoy a strong rapport that facilitates higher academic performance and stronger emotional development. In addition, we encourage our families to get involved in school life, and we provide many opportunities to do so. Together, our approach produces a welcoming, cohesive community that creates the best environment possible in which elementary students can thrive. While many schools may speak of foundation, community, and excellence, Aurora Prep espouses them as its fundamental, governing principles. Our students are encouraged to do their best at all times, achieving excellence in every subject and activity. We promote responsibility, independence and effort, recognizing the inherent importance of the learning process and not just the final result. Aurora Prep students develop the courage to try new things and the mindset that they are capable of anything. They recognize that striving for academic excellence must be complemented by striving for excellence in all other aspects of life. A committed involvement in athletic, artistic or altruistic pursuits is an essential component of our students? lives.

Blyth Academy
Blyth Academy offers a private high school experience that focuses on personalized education, very small class sizes and experiential learning. This unique approach to education has met with enthusiastic response and success among students and parents since we opened our doors over 30 years ago. Today, we are Canada?s largest private high school, with nine campuses throughout Southern Ontario. Personalized Education With class sizes that average fewer then eight students, we are able to provide a highly personalized education. Every one of our students has a seat at the front of the class: everyone is involved, and everyone receives the full attention of the teacher. This encourages the full engagement of the entire class, each and every day. Experiential Learning Blyth?s experiential learning model is one of the pillars of our success. We hire teachers from outside the traditional classroom, bringing a fresh and personal perspective to class. We bring students? out of the traditional classroom, so they can participate more fully in the learning process. Our partnerships with various learning institutions, such as the Royal Ontario Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario, encourage more hands-on learning. Four Term Structure Our academic year is divided into four terms, with two classes each term. This new approach to education has dramatic benefits for students. With only two classes to focus on, as opposed to the traditional setting of four courses per semester, students spend less time juggling academic workloads and more time learning. This allows more time for in-depth review and individual attention, and students respond with improved attitudes and performance. Passionate teachers. Blyth Academy attracts thousands of teacher applications every year, allowing us to be very selective about our staff. Our teachers are selected for their excellent teaching skills, passion, depth of knowledge, and ability to empathize and encourage students. We?re very proud of our team, and regular evaluations assure us that they remain dedicated and passionate. Surprising affordability We believe that high quality education should be available for everyone. With tuition starting below $10,000 for the full academic year, Blyth Academy is more accessible than almost any other private high school. This affordability gives more high school students access to the academic excellence we offer, and more. It also provides students with the intellectual and personal learning that Blyth Academy offers ? lessons that last a lifetime. Fourteen Campuses With campuses in Toronto (Yorkville, Lawrence Park, Thornhill, Downsview Park), Burlington, Mississauga (Cawthra and Adamson Estate), Whitby, London, and Ottawa (Upper and Lower School), there is a Blyth Academy near you! New for 2013 - Boarding Blyth Academy is pleased to offer boarding in our London Campus.

Kings Ridge Montessori
King's Ridge Montessori is committed to follow the Montessori method, created by Dr. Maria Montessori in the early 1900s. With a revolutionary approach, Dr. Maria Montessori complemented her students' persistent focus by allowing them to become accustomed to ample free exploration and hands-on learning as her classroom's norm. She chose to embrace the unique learning styles and habits that each pupil displayed from one day into the next, catering to instinctive patterns while helping each student perfect uniquely personal study strategies. Today, Montessori students experience abstract concepts beyond traditional public school objectives alongside the core educational pillars of Mathematics, Language, Sensorial Awareness, Cultural Education and Practical Life. Instruction focuses on childhood's formative role in sound adult development, focused on processes of observation, ample individual liberty, and environmental awareness. Teachers move smoothly among their students, not so much dispensing facts for memorization as offering gentle suggestions and helping students become accustomed to teaching themselves. At King's Ridge Montessori, our main goal is to offer the most nurturing and enriching program for children throughout the first six years of their lives, the age they are more eager to learn by exploring. Our Mission We, at King's Ridge Montessori, have the mission to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment to inspire an individualized lifelong love of learning in every student, every day.
