About Calgary French & International School
The Calgary French & International School is an educationally progressive, French immersion school with strong academics and a flourishing Spanish-language program. Cultural peace is cultivated through teaching the UNESCO values and instilling a strong global perspective, in every grade from preschool to Grade 12. CFIS graduates study in diverse fields including, computer science, engineering, neurobiology, international development, theatre, fine arts and medicine, Graduates are officially fluent in French and English and functionally fluent in Spanish. Part of the success of CFIS is their ability to respond to the unique needs and interests of each student. In younger grades this means an emergent curriculum and play materials inspired by each child's interests. In their Elementary Division, transformational, inquiry-based learning uses a child's curiosity as a spring board for projects and self-driven areas of study. In the Secondary Division, challenging courses, team teaching and our mentorship program ensures that every student can follow their dreams.
