About Marcelle-Mallet secondaire prive
Located in Old Levis on an enchanting site with a breathtaking view of the St. Lawrence River and the Château Frontenac, our secondary education institution owes its existence to Bishop Joseph-David Deziel, parish priest of Levis. Anxious to give the young girls of his parish a solid education in accordance with their condition, he decided to entrust this work to the Sisters of Charity of Quebec and to its founder, Mother Marcelle Mallet. On September 22, 1858, Mother Mallet crossed the river with five of her companions to take possession of this newly constructed building, at the cost of $14,412 at the time. From October 1, the first students entered.
